Our Story

Tanner Rice is a jack of all trades with a cheerful demeanor so taking on a flower shop as his next project should surprise no one. From his active work in the public sector as a police officer and public servant as well as his employment with the local school district, Tanner has acquired a plethora of knowledge and taste for appeal. He has decided to enter into the private sector to bring a foundational business back to Sarcoxie, Missouri.

In the summer of 2024 while working in his home landscapes, Tanner remembered from his previous floriculture and horticulture classes and activities in how peaceful it was to arrange plants and flowers towards his creative and bold visions. It became clear his path was missing a piece to the puzzle—it was in the quiet and calm appreciation for the surrounding beauty. He wanted to bring that back to the community he served so long. He stepped into the unknown and started "The Bearded Iris." It wasn’t just a flower shop; it was a new beginning.

The Bearded Iris is a place where people find more than flowers. They find a piece of the community, a place of warmth and welcome. Seeing the smiles as folks pick up their bouquets remind him why he dove into this endeavor. It was about bringing a bit of beauty and peace into their lives.

Now, his mission is to spread that beauty, one flower at a time, standing strong and steady, just like he does in his other roles. Tanner and his experienced team of fabulous designers welcome everyone who walks through those doors with the same dedication and strength as he does in everything else. The Bearded Iris isn't just a shop; it's a testament to the courage it takes to follow your heart and find a new path, even when it leads you somewhere unexpected
